This notice provides you with information on how we (see “Introduction”) will process your personal data.

The SEANERGYS website is operated by Leibniz Supercomputing Centre of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities (LRZ), Boltzmannstraße 1, 85748 Garching near Munich, Germany; Tel. +49 (0)89-35831-8000; E-Mail: leitung@lrz.de) Within the SEANERGYS Project, LRZ is the controller of personal data processed when the website is accessed. 3. Purposes for which we process your data, processed data categories and legal basis of the processing

3.1. Website (Art. 6 para 1 lit. e GDPR, Art 43 para 1 BayDiG, Art 32 GDPR)

Our web server temporarily store the following information in a log file:

– IP address of the accessing computer
– Date and time of access
– Name, URL and transferred data volume of the retrieved file
– Access status (i.e. file transferred, not found, etc.)
– Identification data of the browser and operating system used (if transmitted by the web browser)
– Web page from which the access was made (if transmitted by the web browser)

The data in the log file is processed as follows:

The log entries are continuously evaluated automatically in order to detect attacks on the web server and to be able to react accordingly.

In individual cases (i.e. in the event of reported malfunctions, errors and security incidents), a manual analysis is carried out.

Anonymized logs are used to create access statistics (see Retention Period). The software used for this is operated locally by the LRZ.

 3.2. E-Mail (Art. 6 para 1 lit. b GDPR)

If you write us an e-mail, the data you provide will be processed by FZJ and LRZ.

3.2.1 Categories of recipients

Your email inquiries can be forwarded to the other partners within the project for proper response.

3.3. Social Media

If social media icons from LinkedIn and others are used on our websites, no personal data is transferred. To prevent automatic data transmission, references to these providers are made via URL. For data protection reasons, no active social media plugins are used.

Our social media presence is part of our public relations work. Our aim is to provide information tailored to our target audience.

If you use our social media channels, we do not collect any personal data or log data. However, the providers of these platforms process your personal data. The use of services on social media platforms is voluntary and based on your awareness of the respective privacy policies.

4. Retention period

4.1. Website

Log entries older than seven days are anonymized by truncating the IP address.

4.2. E-Mail

Your data will be stored for as long as is necessary to manage the communication with you.

4.3. Cookies

We only use technically necessary cookies.

5. Your Rights in Connection with your personal data

5.1. Under applicable law your principal rights are:

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you which is based on point Article 6 (1) (e) or (f) GDPR (Article 21 GDPR).

5.2. LRZ as controller:

  1. If you have any questions regarding your personal data or if you want to exercise your rights as described above, you can contact the LRZ data privacy team via the service desk (https://servicedesk.lrz.de).
  2. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The LRZ is governed by „Der Bayerische Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz (BayLfD)“, https://www.datenschutz-bayern.de/
  3. If you send an inquiry via our service desk (https://servicedesk.lrz.de), it will be processed by our employees trained in data protection. You can contact the data protection officer at datenschutz@lrz.de. Two employees of the LRZ who are obliged to secrecy also have access to this e-mail address. If you want to contact the data protection officer directly with confidential content, please use the postal address.

5.3. FZ Jülich as controller:

  1. If you have any questions regarding your personal data or if you want to exercise your rights as described above then you can contact an employee of the FS Jülich (info@fz-juelich.de).
